The kitchen industry is coming to Löhne
BMK Prizegiving [German Association of Medium-sized Kitchen Retailers] – VDDK Press Conference [Association of German Kitchen Furniture Industry] – Kitchen Mile A30 Press Conference – Ergomatic Special Exhibit.
All this and more awaits you at the Area30.
For 6 days from 14 September 2013, Löhne will again become the meeting place of the kitchen industry from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Löhne has about 125 exhibitors and brands, making it the central place to go in the autumn, with the greatest density of exhibitors at several locations in the city. There will be 108 high-quality exhibitors and brands presenting their innovative new products and special highlights at the Area30 alone.
There will be three different industry events at the Area30 that will be important for some of our guests: the BMK prizegiving, the VDDK press conference, and the special Ergomatic exhibit. All three events will take place in the fully booked Area30 hall. The special Ergomatic exhibit can be viewed during the entire fair.
The exhibitors and organisers of Area30 look forward to your visit in Löhne!
BMK Innovation Prize 2013 – Prizegiving is at 6:00 PM on 15 September 2013 at the Area30.
2013 will see the eighth BMK innovation prize for the specialised kitchen trade – the winner and finalists will be honoured at this year’s Area30 in an event space especially created for the purpose, right in the centre of Area30. Everyone in the industry is invited to attend the prizegiving.
For that evening, the central catering area will be restructured and a special presentation area installed. This will facilitate an increased audience and give more room for emotions.
In “Löhne – World City of Kitchens”, the German Association of Medium-sized Kitchen Retailers (BMK) will award prizes to a winner and others who placed near the top. Manufacturers have sent their innovations to be voted on in the areas of kitchen furniture, kitchen devices, and kitchen accessories.
In past experience, very many kitchen retailers take part in the national survey and evaluate the submitted products for creativity, aesthetics and functionally outstanding product qualities, as well as their marketability.
The companies are already keenly awaiting the 2013 result.

Press conference on Wednesday 18 September 2013 at 2:00 PM, Industry and University: An unbeatable team
Why is the German kitchen furniture industry investing in its own professorship for design management? After five years of “Kitchen Mile” professorship, we take a look at the results.
The collaboration with the design management laboratory at the Ostwestfalen/Lippe University of Applied Sciences, based on the course of study of wood technology in the specialised area of production and economics, is seen by us as an element of our claim to the power of innovation and leading designs of kitchens made in Germany.
The board of the A30 Kitchen Mile Association, Heinz-Erwin Ellersiek, Ballerina-Küchen, Heinz-Erwin-Ellersiek GmbH, Andreas Assner, Bauformat Küchen GmbH & Co., Lars Völkel, Poggenpohl Möbelwerke GmbH and Yvonne Davy with Professor Martin Beeh and his scientific colleague Anna-Katherina Spielvogel, together with some students from the course, will report on experiences and goals.
Sachsenküchen – for the first time at Area30:
Ergomatic and many other new products for the modern kitchen
Sachsenküchen-Ergomatic – Cook and prepare ergonomically and at the optimum work height.
The Ergomatic system is a central theme at this year’s Area30, developed together with the Danish company Linak. It can be seen in three areas of a special section.
Sachsenküchen manager Elko Beeg explains, “We will present our height-adjustable cooking island, height-adjustable kitchen counter, and our modern lifting table.”
While the cooking island is particularly suitable for larger kitchens, for rooms with smaller dimensions the kitchen counter offers the perfect mixture of space-saving setup and individual height adjustment.
Beeg continues, “The lifting table, on the other hand, is impressively multi-functional. It can be used in many ways – to eat, to celebrate, or for kitchen work. Fair visitors can look forward to an ergonomic system that has been continually developed and improved.”
The system has been on the market since early 2013 and is already selling successfully. “Now at the Area30 in Löhne we want to use the opportunity to present its many advantages to a specialised audience.”
Experience the Sachsenküchen Ergomatic live at special event area F41 and let yourself be inspired by the many possibilities of an ergonomically planned kitchen.
