40 Years of Successful Innovation
SCHOCK, the innovative manufacturer of granite composite sinks and high-grade kitchen taps, is proud to be celebrating several anniversaries in 2019. First and foremost, we are marking 95 years since SCHOCK was founded in 1924. It is also the 40th anniversary of the invention of the granite composite sink in 1979. And the Bavarian town of Regen was chosen as the new home for SCHOCK headquarters 40 years ago, too.
SCHOCK’s invention of the granite composite technology is a material innovation based on natural quartz sands from Bavaria that offers varied design possibilities and, thanks to the company’s constant R&D work, is continually taking market share from the classic stainless steel sink. SCHOCK has taken what was once merely a piece of functional equipment and shone a light on the kitchen sink in the hub of the home in a success story that continues to this day.
Sustainable Expertise
SCHOCK currently holds more than 90 patents as the global market leader. Some 60 percent of all granite composite sinks produced in the world today are made with the process the company invented. The workforce has more than doubled to over 500 since 2012. WirtschaftsWoche and MSG (Munich Strategy Group) ranked SCHOCK in the top 14 of Germany’s most innovative SMEs in 2017 in affirmation of the company’s outstanding performance.
