STRASSER stones - sustainability in noble form

STRASSER Steine GmbH is Austria's market leader for kitchen worktops made of natural stone. The company has been producing in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria, the heartland of granite, for over 60 years. With its own sales company in Kösching near Ingolstadt, the company also has a nationwide presence on the German market. Around 300 employees generated a turnover of 45.9 million euros in 2024.

STRASSER Steine's production focuses on high-quality kitchen worktops, which include ALPINOVA kitchen worktops and islands in addition to natural stone worktops, as the trend in today's society has been towards sustainability and recyclability for many years now. This trend has gained strong momentum and is increasingly finding its way into the kitchen. Ceramic worktops round off the range.

ALPINOVA: The circular material with style
STRASSER Steine is a pioneer of the so-called RE-STONING process, which recycles used natural stone and ALPINOVA worktops. When kitchens are renovated, STRASSER collects the worktops that are no longer needed directly from the retailer, crushes them and processes them into new ALPINOVA worktops. Cuttings from production and quarries can also be recycled in this way. The material consists of 90 % recycled natural stone and/or feldspar and 10 % high-quality binder. Even ALPINOVA worktops themselves can be recycled after use and returned to the production cycle - a real milestone for the sustainable kitchen industry. 10% of STRASSER's production volume is already accounted for by ALPINOVA - this corresponds to around 2,500 kitchen commissions sold and emphasises the great potential of this innovative material.

ALPINOVA Cubo: Monolithic kitchen island with sustainable cladding
With ALPINOVA Cubo, it is now possible to design monolithic kitchen islands from a single material. For the first time, STRASSER Steine is offering a complete system in which carcass variants from Austrian production are combined with a high-quality ALPINOVA cladding. The result is an easy-to-plan, sustainable kitchen island that is available in three different product lines and combines modern design with ecological responsibility. STRASSER Steine 2025 was honoured with the prestigious Interior Innovation Award in the ‘Kitchens’ category for this innovative product.
