trendfairs launches open online portal kuechenherbst.online
Virtual worldwide showcase for the kitchen industry
Trade fairs are crucial sales and communication channels for companies, their products or brands and between partners in the value chain. Amid the current Covid-19 pandemic, trade fair organisers are having to decide whether to hold their particular event “live” as either a hybrid or virtual show, depending on the specific nature of the show. And it’s no different for the kitchen industry, with key events scheduled to take place in exhibition centres and in-house exhibitions in mid-September. Trade fair organiser trendfairs is now inviting visitors to a new digital trade fair experience: cross-industry, company-neutral and virtual, anywhere, anytime. “kuechenherbst.online” is being launched online – as a stage for innovations from 150 exhibitors, livestreams, video chats and sharing ideas and opinions, as well as for product information and, of course, ordering. Munich-based trade fair specialist trendfairs GmbH is behind the ambitious project, which will be accessible to the entire industry, easy to use and available 24/7 for a number of weeks as of 19 September.
Each year in mid-September, over 200 kitchen manufacturers, trade and accessory suppliers and service providers showcase their products and services across some 30 locations to decision-makers from specialist kitchen retailers, trade co-operatives, DIY stores, architects, planners and property developers looking for inspiration. On a total of over 50,000 square metres of exhibition space, all the industry’s major orders are placed and preparations made for the upcoming kitchen season in Europe, and even worldwide. This year, this “normality” is severely limited; yet, new communication formats are opening up new opportunities.
Some events are going digital. But does the autumn kitchen industry trade fair “Küchenherbst” – usually a highly fragmented event, jointly organised by a multitude of exhibition centres and companies in East Westphalia and southern Lower Saxony – need to be as fragmented online as the physical event? Especially given its visitors always aim to visit as many locations as possible, as quickly, easily and cheaply as possible, to forge new contacts and do business.
To condense “Küchenherbst” into one easy-to-visit location for its 2020 virtual edition, professional trade fair organiser trendfairs is therefore launching the platform “kuechenherbst.online” for all those interested in attending the event. From 19 to 24 September, this online portal will be offering visitors access to all of the trade fairs and exhibitions in East Westphalia and beyond. Product and brand innovations from all participating partners will be available to discover 24/7 – from anywhere in the world and for a number of weeks after the actual main event. Exhibition centres and individual companies in the Rödinghausen-Löhne-Herford triangle have already signed up for kuechenherbst.online, and more and more are joining them every day.
Because the benefits of this new platform are second to none: Both the neutral bundling of common interests and joint addressing of target groups score points, as do the advantages of a digital presence and the simple page layout, despite the extensive content. In addition, the platform runs on all common operating systems and browsers, is designed to be responsive and is available in both German and English.
The fact that it addresses 17,000 professional visitors, currently 13,000 of whom with personal access to kuechenherbst.online, bodes particularly well for the future success of the platform. The chain reaction triggered by the participants and other opinion leaders and the intensive promotion of the portal promises an even greater reach.
kuechenherbst.online can be leveraged by interested companies from August onwards. The tool is largely self-explanatory and is as easy to use as the likes of Contao, Typo3 and WordPress. A wealth of features and comprehensive upload options, for texts, images, videos, files and links, for example, facilitate a 100% customised look based on a basic backend matrix. Companies can, of course, also opt to integrate their own landing page. The placement of additional promotional tools is also possible.
After registering or logging in from the homepage, trade visitors to the portal can either select the companies they wish to visit from the list of exhibitors or “wander” from exhibition to exhibition using a map. Filter functions can be used to narrow down searches in the customary way, while FAQs make the platform easier to use.
Users can choose to make use of the features “Bookmark”, “Video Call” and “Livestream” available on the relevant company or brand page. The latest demos are stored with titles and schedules; a reminder can be set. In addition, mail enquiries and, if desired, chats can be initiated and business cards – stored during registration – passed on to the exhibitor fully electronically. This completes the circle, enabling the informal visit to turn into a business exchange.
For trade visitors from the kitchen industry who travel the length and breadth of East Westphalia every September, this virtual bundling of many industry players is a long-held wish come true. And for the very first time, exhibitors from the kitchen furniture industry and supplier groups will be able to leverage kuechenherbst.online to organise additional digital business opportunities with little outlay. Platform operator trendfairs will itself be taking a back seat in this innovative project, to ensure kuechenherbst.online is a cross-industry, impartial, open and neutral online showcase. Especially for those companies at the start of their digital future!
